Bronfenbrenner Analysis of Ecological Human Development...

The ecological theory of development was created by a Russian American psychologist named Urie Bronfenbrenner. He developed the theory based on his belief that all children grow and develop differently based on their environmental factors and the situations surrounding those environmental factors. The theory was comprised of four levels and later a fifth level was added. The microsystem level focused on those factors that immediately surrounded the child. Those factors could include: family, school, neighborhood, and church. Mesosystem level is a connection between two different environments, like school and neighborhood. She was very strict in terms of homework. Although she was not very hands on in terms of the homework being done, she insisted that it was done every day when we first got home from school. She also expected my brothers and me to maintain a B average though out our school years. I think she expected more out of me because I showed the love for learning at an early age. My brothers didn’t seem to like school and struggled through a lot of it. Over time, our mother began the lower her expectations for them. My father was happy as long as we didn’t not receive any F’s. The layer that is considered the outermost layer of development is known as the macrosystem. This layer is comprised of cultural beliefs, values, customs, and economy. My father grew up in the Seventh Day Adventist religion and although we did not consistently belong to a Seventh Day Adventist church, he did make us follow a lot of their beliefs. My brothers and I did not grow up in a very religious family. My parents did go to church that often. My paternal grandmother was a Seventh Day Adventist and we sometimes attended chur ch with her. My father later became more relax in his beliefs as we grew older. However, the one thing he was very adamant about was, we were not allowed to eat port until we were grown. A Review of the TANF Cash Assistance Programs Roughly 20% of the United States’ children are living in families suffering from poverty (National Center for Education Statistics, 2015). According to Yeung, Linver and Brooks-Gunn (2002); Pungello et al., (2010); and Evans (2004), economic hardships increase the likelihood of â€Å"maladaptive† behaviors while decreasing school performance and poor cognitive-behavioral development. (1861-1879; 410-426; 77-92). To prevent this, lawmakers were spurred into creating public policy to actively reduce the rate of childhood poverty along with associated risk factors as well as foster economic independency in families apart from the welfare system. The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Act, TANF, was created out of a block grant from PRWORA. TANF replaced two programs: the Job Opportunities and Basic Skills Training program—JOBS—and the Aid to Families with Dependent Children—AFDC—program that provided assistance to mothers and children. SYSTEMIC CIRCULATION: Atherosclerosis Cardiovascular system consists of the heart, blood vessels and the blood inside them. It’s responsible for transporting oxygen, nutrition and waste products throughout the body. The heart is the circulatory pump that transports blood to the entire body. Cardiovascular system has two circulations: systemic and the pulmonary circulations. Pulmonary circulation is the flow of blood between the heart and lungs. Pulmonary circulation starts when the deoxygenated blood enters through superior and the inferior vena cava to the right atrium. The blood passes though Tricuspid valve to the right ventricle. The right ventricle pumps blood into the pulmonary artery. Pulmonary track splits into right and left pulmonary arteries that go to each lung and blood gets oxygenated. But I figured there was a big problem, which was the language that I should be adapting to sooner or later. Actually, I hated English ever since school, because our teacher was very bad looking and smelled like a rotten egg, and most of the time the class was disorganized. Students were very quiet and bored to death. And I felt like my heart was dimed in the darkness every time I walked into the classroom. Before going to school in America, I was scared that I would start whispering to myself or shouting loudly and felt my skin was cold and my surface was very smooth, whenever I thought that I can’t adapt to the culture and be part of the society at the time. Finally, I gained an experience and own new friendship in this adventure.
